Present
Currently, I am a graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Graphic Design. I am a designer who works with a computer as well as my hands. I know how to use a camera and live a life away from the view-finder. I am excited to be where I am today but still unsatisfied.
Future
Looking forward, I can’t tell you what is going to happen next, but I do have some direction. While at Portland State, aside from Graphic Design, I focused a lot time in Environmental Sustainability. I am very passionate about how efficient something can be and how it effects everything around it. I believe there are huge possibilities to be had when it comes to environmental design. I believe the furter of design is to think in an ever more broad situation. As designers, our work must encompass the past, present and future. Where our work comes from, how it functions in society, and what it turns into a hundred years from its origin. Ethics in design will play an ever more important role as our planet shrinks.

Past
During high school (99-03) I had no idea what I wanted to do. Like most, I was big in to snow and skateboarding at the time. During my Junior year in high school I wanted to start a clothing company about these interests the way I saw them. I thought the industry was selling products for all the wrong reasons. We arbitrarily named it Monroe, and it ran for almost 3 years. I would say it was a success, not in the form of profits or popularity but more as a learning experience. Also during my Junior, year I began my first photography and computer graphics classes. Oddly, I never saw these skills as something i could use in a career. Without much knowledge of design I entered Portland State University and declared my major as Graphic Design. Looking back I wouldn't have changed a thing and now realize that I have been a designer my whole life.
